| Abstract | | G-SCIDAR observations can provide the modulus and direction of the wind
of turbulence layers projected on a plane perpendicular to the observing
direction.
The effects of such projection on the determination of velocity vectors
have been assumed to be relatively small as the G-SCIDAR data are normally
obtained at zenith angles smaller than 30°. We have calculated the
mathematical expression for the error in the determination of the wind
direction and modulus from G-SCIDAR due to such projection and assuming a
turbulent layer moving horizontally. We give also results with the effects
for some observation cases.
