Mauna Kea Forecast Latest Forecast for Mauna Kea Observatories
830 AM HST (1830 UTC) Sunday 29 February 2004 (THIS IS AN OLD FORECAST)

Warnings
Extensive fog, ice, and high humidity.
Chance for thunderstorms and snow.

Tonight's Cloud Cover and Precipitation Forecast
Although the summit appears relatively clear at the moment (at least from Hilo), humidity is not expected to drop below 80% for another 36 to possibly 72 hours. In fact, the entire atmosphere is projected to become completely saturated for tonight. In addition to that, the atmosphere near the Islands will remain very unstable through the next 24-48 hours. As a result, extensive fog and ice is expected for tonight. There is also a very good chance for more light snow over the next 24 hours and isolated thunderstorms, particularly this afternoon and tomorrow afternoon. Snowfall could be heavy in the event of any developing and/or passing thunderstorms. Cloud cover will also be very extensive as more mid-level clouds develop near or move in from the west during the night.
