The flooding is likely to be worst during the evening high tides. The following are the times for the evening high tides at Honolulu. 5/28 Today 6:46 PM 5/29 Memorial Day 7:40 PM A High Surf Advisory remains in effect for south facing shores of all islands through this afternoon. The combination of higher than normal sea levels and king tides will cause coastal flooding along all shores. Flooding will likely be most extensive along south facing shores due to the large south swell. Beaches that normally remain dry during high surf events along south shores will flood during this event since the south swell will be rolling in on top of the elevated sea levels. Ocean water may also inundate roads, docks, boat ramps and other near-shore infrastructure. The south swell and the king tides will gradually subside through the middle of the week. Elevated sea levels are expected to continue, so the flooding threat may be repeated during the times of the highest tides over the next couple of months.
