.An unstable airmass over the western islands will continue the
chance for flooding over Kauai, Niihau and Oahu today. The threat
continues for Kauai and Niihau through the weekend.

...FLASH FLOOD WATCH NOW IN EFFECT THROUGH SUNDAY AFTERNOON...

The Flash Flood Watch is now in effect for

* Kauai and Niihau.

* Through Sunday afternoon

* Bands of heavy showers, and the chance for a few thunderstorms,
  will continue to develop and move over Kauai and Niihau through
  the weekend. These bands will have the potential to dump 
  torrential rainfall in a relatively short amount of time. 

* Where torrential rains occur, flash flooding of poor drainage 
  areas, streams, and low lying areas is possible. 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash
flooding is very dangerous. Monitor later forecasts and be
prepared to take action should warnings be issued.

* Until 6 PM HST this evening

* Bands of heavy showers, and the chance for a few thunderstorms
  will continue to develop and lift north over Oahu through this
  afternoon. These bands will have the potential to dump 
  torrential rainfall in a relatively short amount of time.
