...FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 830 PM HST THIS EVENING 
FOR THE ISLAND OF HAWAII IN HAWAII COUNTY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...The island of Hawaii in Hawaii County.

* WHEN...Until 830 PM HST.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in 
  streams.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 608 PM HST, radar indicated heavy rain over windward
    slopes of the Big Island southwest through northwest of Hilo.
    Rain is falling at a rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour. The
    heaviest rain is currently falling near the coast over and in
    the vicinity of Laupahoehoe. Rising water levels have been
    observed in the Honolii Stream and may occur elsewhere.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Hilo, Papaikou, Honomu, Pepeekeo, Hakalau, Ninole, Mountain
    View, Keaau, Laupahoehoe, Glenwood, Volcano, Ookala, Hawaiian
    Acres, Orchidlands Estates, Wainaku, Paukaa, Kurtistown and
    Fern Acres.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone 
to flooding.

Do not cross fast flowing or rising water in your vehicle, or on 
foot. Turn around, don't drown.

persists.
