The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a

* Flood advisory for...
  The island of Kauai in Kauai County

* Until 445 PM HST.

* At 150 PM HST, radar and rain gages indicated areas of slow-moving 
  moderate to heavy showers over portions of windward and southern 
  Kauai. Many of the showers are affecting upslope areas, and with 
  rainfall rates between 1 and 2 inches per hour, stream rises are 
  likely.

* Locations in the advisory include but are not limited to...
  Lihue, Kalaheo, Omao, Wailua, and Kapahi.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone to
flooding.

Rainfall and runoff will also cause hazardous driving conditions due
to ponding, reduced visibility and poor braking action.

Do not cross fast flowing or rising water in your vehicle, or on
foot. Turn around, don't drown.

persists.
