The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a

* Flood advisory for...
  The island of Kauai in Kauai County

* Until 545 AM HST.

* At 250 AM HST, rain gages and satellite date indicated periods of 
  heavy rain affecting windward portions of Kauai, with rainfall 
  rates between 1 and 2 inches per hour. Also, stream gages 
  indicated rising water levels, as over 2 inches of rain has fallen 
  in the mountains overnight. 

* Locations in the advisory include but are not limited to...
  Lihue, Kilauea, Anahola, Wailua, Hanalei, Haena, Wainiha, Moloaa, 
  and Princeville.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone to
flooding.

Rainfall and runoff will also cause hazardous driving conditions due
to ponding, reduced visibility and poor braking action.

Do not cross fast flowing or rising water in your vehicle, or on
foot. Turn around, don't drown.

This advisory may need to be extended beyond 545 AM HST if heavy rain
persists.
