The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a

* Flood advisory for...
  The island of Hawaii in Hawaii County

* Until 715 PM HST.

* At 415 PM HST, radar continue to show scattered heavy showers and 
  thunderstorms producing rain rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour over 
  leeward and interior portions of the Big Island. Showers are 
  expected to diminish late this afternoon.

* Locations in the advisory include but are not limited to...
  Kailua-Kona, Naalehu, Pohakuloa Camp, Captain Cook, Puuanahulu,
  Honaunau, Waikoloa Village, Kainaliu, Kealakekua, Honalo, Pahala
  and Wood Valley.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone to
flooding.

Rainfall and runoff will also cause hazardous driving conditions due
to ponding, reduced visibility and poor braking action.

Do not cross fast flowing or rising water in your vehicle, or on
foot. Turn around, don't drown.

This advisory may need to be extended beyond 715 PM HST if heavy rain
persists.

This Flood Advisory replaces the previously issued Flood Advisory
that was in effect for portions of the island of Hawaii in Hawaii
County.
