The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a

* Flood advisory for...
  The island of Kauai in Kauai County

* Until 630 PM HST.

* At 330 PM HST, radar showed moderate to heavy rainfall moving over 
  Kauai from the southwest. The most intense rainfall was over 
  Hanapepe and was moving toward the northeast with rates at about 1 
  inch per hour. The band should reach northeast Kauai within the 
  next hour.

* This advisory includes the entire island of Kauai.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone to
flooding.

Rainfall and runoff will also cause hazardous driving conditions due
to ponding, reduced visibility and poor braking action.

Do not cross fast flowing or rising water in your vehicle, or on
foot. Turn around, don't drown.

This advisory may need to be extended beyond 630 PM HST if heavy rain
persists.

A Flash Flood Watch is also in effect for Kauai County through 
Thursday afternoon.
