...THE FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 645 AM HST FOR THE
ISLAND OF MAUI IN MAUI COUNTY...

At 436 AM HST, radar indicated heavy rain across portions of West 
Maui. Radar and rain gauge observations indicated rainfall rates 
were ranging from 1 to 2 inches per hour. Rainfall intensity has 
decreased over the past 30 minutes in advisory area that covers West 
Maui and Maui Central Valley. Expect elevated water levels in 
streams and ponding of water on local area roads.

Locations in the advisory include but are not limited to...
Kahului, Honokohau, Kahakuloa, Haliimaile, Paia, Makawao, Wailuku,
Olowalu, Waihee, Kaanapali, Napili-Honokowai and Kapalua.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone to
flooding.

Rainfall and runoff will also cause hazardous driving conditions due
to ponding, reduced visibility and poor braking action.

Do not cross fast flowing or rising water in your vehicle, or on
foot. Turn around, don't drown.
