The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a

* Flood advisory for...
  The island of Kauai in Kauai County

* Until 1000 PM HST.

* At 700 PM HST, radar indicated persistent heavy rain and isolated 
  thunderstorms over interior portions of Kauai. This rainfall will 
  likely lead to rising water levels in all streams that drain from 
  Mount Waialeale, including Hanalei River. Additionally, heavy 
  showers over the leeward side are diminishing, but have led to 
  localized ponding of water on the west side near Barking Sands.   

* This advisory includes the entire island of Kauai.  

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone to
flooding.

Rainfall and runoff will also cause hazardous driving conditions due
to ponding, reduced visibility and poor braking action.

Do not cross fast flowing or rising water in your vehicle, or on
foot. Turn around, don't drown.

This advisory may need to be extended beyond 1000 PM HST if heavy
rain persists.
