The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a

* Flood advisory for...
  The island of Kauai in Kauai County

* Until 600 PM HST

* At 255 PM HST, radar indicated heavy heavy showers and 
  thunderstorms over southern and interior Kauai producing rain 
  rates up to 2 inches per hour. Additional heavy rainfall is 
  expected through the afternoon, leading to hazardous driving and 
  rises in streams.

* Locations in the advisory include but are not limited to...
  Lihue, Kilauea, Anahola, Wailua, Hanalei, Hanapepe, Omao, Wainiha,
  North Fork Wailua Trails, Koloa, Moloaa and Lawai.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone to
flooding.

Rainfall and runoff will also cause hazardous driving conditions due
to ponding, reduced visibility and poor braking action.

Do not cross fast flowing or rising water in your vehicle, or on
foot. Turn around, don't drown.

This advisory may need to be extended beyond 600 PM HST if heavy rain
persists.
