The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a

* Flood advisory for...
  The island of Kauai in Kauai County

* Until 330 PM HST

* At 1223 PM HST, radar indicated heavy rain over the north-facing 
  slopes of Kauai. The highest rain rates were 1 to 2 inches per 
  hour in the Kokee State Park. Additional rainfall is expected to 
  develop over the island during the next several hours. 

* Locations in the advisory include but are not limited to...
  Kilauea, Mana, Hanalei, Na Pali State Park, Omao, Barking Sands,
  Wainiha, North Fork Wailua Trails, Moloaa, Princeville, Kalaheo and
  Hanapepe.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone to
flooding.

Rainfall and runoff will also cause hazardous driving conditions due
to ponding, reduced visibility and poor braking action.

Do not cross fast flowing or rising water in your vehicle, or on
foot. Turn around, don't drown.

persists.
