TROPICAL DISTURBANCE 05W (PEIPAH), LOCATED APPROXIMATELY 168 NM
WEST-NORTHWEST OF KOROR, PALAU, HAS TRACKED EAST-NORTHEASTWARD AT 03
KNOTS OVER THE PAST SIX HOURS. ANIMATED MULTISPECTRAL SATELLITE
IMAGERY (MSI) SHOWS THE LOW LEVEL CIRCULATION HAS COMPLETELY
UNRAVELED AND BECOME EMBEDDED IN A TIGHT TROUGH. THE ASSOCIATED
CONVECTION HAS SHEARED FURTHER WESTWARD BUT CONTINUES TO FLARE DUE
TO A STRONG POLEWARD OUTFLOW CHANNEL. THE INITIAL POSITION IS BASED
ON THE MSI LOOP WITH POOR CONFIDENCE. THE INITIAL INTENSITY IS BASED
ON A RECENT SCATTEROMETRY PASS. THE DISTURBANCE REMAINS IN AN AREA
OF MODERATE TO STRONG (20-30 KNOT) EASTERLY VERTICAL WIND SHEAR
(VWS). THE HIGH VWS IS EXACERBATED BY THE CYCLONES EASTWARD MOTION.
SINCE 05W HAS FALLEN TO BELOW WARNING THRESHOLD, THIS IS THE FINAL
WARNING ON THIS SYSTEM BY THE JOINT TYPHOON WRNCEN PEARL HARBOR HI.
THE SYSTEM WILL BE CLOSELY MONITORED FOR SIGNS OF REGENERATION.
MAXIMUM SIGNIFICANT WAVE HEIGHT AT 100600Z IS 8 FEET. //
