A Marine Weather Statement has been issued for the following areas...
Kauai Channel...
Oahu Windward Waters...

At 232 AM HST, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm, capable
of producing winds to around 30 knots. This thunderstorm was located
26 nm east of FAD Buoy WK, or 32 nm east of Kealia, moving southeast
at 10 knots.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

This a strong thunderstorm will likely produce winds to around 30
knots...and could pose a serious hazard for boaters. A special
marine warning may eventually be required. Boaters should consider
heading for shore before the storm arrives.

Intense lightning is occurring with this storm. If caught on the open
water stay below deck if possible...keep away from ungrounded metal
objects.
