For the central North Pacific...between 140W and 180:

1. Thunderstorm activity has increased and become better organized
since yesterday in an area of low pressure located about 1200
miles east-southeast of the Big Island. This system is expected to
drift west for the next day or two with conditions becoming more
favorable for tropical cyclone development.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...medium...40 percent

Elsewhere, no tropical cyclones are expected through Tuesday
evening.
